Irasshaimase!

Welcome to Anime Etc., the home of Goku Girl's large and varied collection of sites. This site takes the place of The Dragon Ball Fanfiction Library as the top-level site. I decided to do this simply because I was diversifying so much. All of my sites still exist and you can access them on the navigation bar to the right. Whenever you see a page that shares this theme, that page is a part of Anime Etc., not any of the other sites.

The current design is based on the one I did for the forum and features characters from the anime Gravitation.

Section Information

A description of the major sections of Anime Etc. Each one can be found on the navigation to the right.

Fanfiction:

The Otaku Institute: Replaces the DBFL as my main fanfiction site. An archive for all fandoms related to Japanese culture.
The Otaku Institute Same-Sex Archive: Formerly a part of the DBFL, now it's the gay- and lesbian-themed counterpart of OI.
The Dragon Ball Fanfiction Library: The site everything sprang from. It began life as Goku Girl's Fanfiction Realm on Xoom.com.
Goku Girl no Soushi: Goku Girl's Storybook is the LiveJournal for my writing that's updated more often than the Suto-ri Denkaku.
Suto-ri Denkaku: The Story Palace is the home of all of my personal fanfiction.
Goku Girl's Fanfiction Recommendations: A (primarily slash-related) directory of excellent fanfiction I've found over the years.

Webdesign:

eFiction Skins: 2.0+ and 3.0+ skins in a variety of different colors and layouts.
Templates: Free website designs that just about anyone can use.
Tutorials: Lessons on HTML, XHTML, and CSS. There is also a selection of tips and general info.
Portfolio: A showcase of eFiction skins and websites I've created for others, and for myself.

Other:

Infinity Forest: The home of my original fiction.
Enduring Devotion: Small shrines dedicated to my favorite couples with links to related sites as well as to good fanfics.
Links: A database of all the separate link pages I previously had.
Affiliates: Anime websites affiliated with Anime Etc. If you want to be considered, please e-mail me with your qualifications.

Whenever I update any of my sites, the (important) information will be displayed here for your convienience (as well as sent through the mailing list if it's important enough). When I figure out how to get an RSS feed to work this will become even more useful.

  • November 4, 2007: Wow, another update in 2007! Anyway, I've added printer-friendly versions of my HTML & CSS tutorials. I've also added another eFiction 3 skin and finally fixed Fukai Mori (eFiction 2). OI and OISA have also been updated with new features. The DBFL is next on my list of website overhauls, but I have to create a new skin first. Hopefully that will happen over Thanksgiving break.

  • October 9, 2007: I'm getting a lot better at this website updating thing. Then again, not really having any homework to do (other than math) gives me a lot of free time. The fanfic recommendation site has been updated with two dozen new recommendations. That's right: 24. This should tide everyone over until the next update, which will probably be sometime next year. :) Next up: the OI and OISA upgrades and uploading print versions of my HTML and CSS tutorials.

  • October 6, 2007: There are new website templates available for download. I'm going to try to update the fanfic recommendation site next week, but I'm not making any promises. I'm also going to upgrade the Otaku Institute and OISA (as well as add a few optional features), but I'm lazy so it might take awhile.

  • September 30, 2007: I've finally released the new layout for the Suto-ri Denkaku. For those of you who don't know, the Denkaku is my personal fanfiction website. Everything I've ever written (and publicly released) is there, including the crappy fanfics I wrote when I was just starting out in 1999/2000.

Sometime later this week I hope to have a few website templates available for download. I plan to make new eFiction skins as well, but those will take a little while. Expect an update to my fanfiction recommendation site someday soon as well.

I'm also selling a lot of clothing items on eBay this week/next week. Check it out, you may find something you like.

  • April 22, 2007: I got rid of the splash page. This page will now serve as the brand new index of Anime Etc. I maintained a splash page out of tradition after I developed Anime Etc., but it has outlived its usefulness. Since I now have a subdomain for all my fanfiction archives (Enduring Devotion and Infinity Forest are mini-sites), I've changed all the links on the navigation. If you've bookmarked a page on any of them, the link will still work so don't worry about that.

I have yet to set up a new forum. I've chosen the script but right now it seems like too much trouble, especially when no one besides the spammers really used it before. I'm uncertain about recreating my fanfiction toplist. The new one would be for all anime fanfiction sites since this site's focus has shifted. I'm leaning towards "no" for the Sennenki fanfiction contest because I can't come up with a system that actually works.

  • February 3, 2007: Both OI and OISA have new features added to it because of a script update; I added/edited my skins for OISA; and I finally updated my fanfic recommendation site again. Oh, and I added icons for my main sites (this has only been five years in the making -_-;). You can see them on the address bar or next to bookmarks/favorites if you're using Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Netscape.

  • January 14, 2007: I finally uploaded some of my eFiction 3.0+ skins and they're available for download.

  • January 4, 2007: First update of the new year. I have the Otaku Institute up and open for submissions but I'm still moving all the non-Dragon Ball fanfics from the DBFL. Soon I'll change the DBFLSA to be its counterpart (as well as alter my skins and the site structure itself to reflect that).

  • November 7, 2006: I finally have my webdesign tutorial page up as well as my two mini-sites. Enduring Devotion is a shrine dedicated to my favorite couples while Goku Girl's Fanfiction Recommendations is devoted to all of my favorite fandoms. It also has recommendations for original stories and novels that I've enjoyed. Also, I've finally uploaded the midis, and I added more Inu Yasha MP3s to my list. The next update will probably be the announcement that I'm going to upgrade the DBFL and DBFLSA to version 3.0 of the eFiction script (which will require me to temporarily disallow submissions).

  • August 9, 2006: I have 4 eFiction skins and 1 regular website template. I also put up screenshots of the skins I did for Boque's Blaise/Hermione fanfiction site and they can be found on the portfolio page. This is only part of my update, actually. I don't know when the other part will be ready to be uploaded. Here's a hint about what's left: I'm finally creating a few of the pages for the inactive links on this site.

  • May 28, 2006: More skins. I know I'm getting a little ridiculous now but eFiction gives me an excuse to come up with website designs. I have another anime one, Vegeta this time, and a plain one based on the IE version of Silver Vegeta that's called LiquidSteel. I also have another Colorblocked skin.

  • May 13, 2006: I upgraded the script for the DBFL and the DBFLSA due to a version increase (it's 2.0.6 now). Version 3.0 is coming down the pipe so there'll be some downtime in the future. Again. More to come on that front.

  • April 30, 2006: A day late but not a dollar short. I do have two more eFiction skins as well as an anime template based on my SA-MU-RAI skin.

  • April 21, 2006: Last week sometime I fixed my eFiction skins so that people would be able to actually open the zip files. Today I fixed my templates as well as updated their readme files. My Colorblocked skins have been temporarily put on hold so that I can fix the skins I use for my fanfiction archives (something long overdue), but I plan to release a few more public download ones by the end of next week.

  • April 7, 2006: I added the three eFiction skins I created that are available for public download. There are two more coming soon (probably by the end of next week) that are a part of the Colorblocked series.

  • April 2, 2006: Officially changed the site structure and uploaded Anime Etc. and Infinity Forest. Yesterday I sent a message through the e-mail list. If you're on it, go ahead and check for it.
